Who are we?

Today, the members of the coalition are : Attac Campus, Avenir Climat, Fac Verte, Fédération Sud Étudiant, Jeunes Laïcs et Solidaire, Jeunes Alternatifs, Jeunes Verts, Mouvement des Jeunes Socialistes, Parti de Gauche Jeunes, Union nationale des Etudiants de France, Zone d’écologie populaire

We are anti-globalisation movements, environmental activists, student unions, youth political organisations…

We are still waiting for the answers of other youth organisations, and we still have to contact other ones.

Our common position

Because we think that we must make strong connections between social and environmental issues, our coalition supports the call ‘Climate urgency, Social Justice’ of the French network of the same name.

We take position against false solutions (nuclear, agrofuels…), and for alternatives : international taxation of energy, relocalisation, renewable energy, energy sobriety, stopping over-production and over-consumption, protecting common goods as climate and forests, socialising energy, democratising economy, using wealth for social and environmental needs instead of profits…

Acknowledging the historical responsability of the North, we call for reparing ecological debt, and for solidarity with peoples of the South who are first affected by climate change. We think also that popular classes in the North must not pay the financing of the struggle against climate change, and that we cannot deal with climate change without promoting a real social change including an other share of wealth.

Mobilisation goals

We want to organise  awareness campaigns,  and to mobilise especially the youth (high school, university…). We will make available material for local activists. YFCC+SJ will be a coordination between diverse networks, from the international level to the local level.

Our plans

We want to make several campaign tools, available online for diffusion or to inspire local campaigns :

- a web site

- a poster

- flyers

- press release

- other internet tools : facebook, newsletter…

- local public debates; meetings, and film shows

- mass actions

- a mobilisation guide for local activists

- maybe a piece of theatre that could be played by local activists

- facilitating the organisation of transports (bus, eurotrain…) to Copenhaguen in December
